Receipt scanning can prepare a merchant, date, total and individual line items, reducing repetitive typing. Image quality and receipt format directly affect accuracy.
What to verify
Check the total, decimal separator, currency, date, duplicate lines and category. Folded, faded or partially photographed receipts may produce incomplete results.
Keep the user in control
Extraction should create an editable draft. Nothing should be treated as final until the user reviews and confirms it.
